An Interview With The Deck of 1000 Spreads

You know how people sometimes interview their new decks to see what kind of a deck it will be for them? Well, I thought I'd try that with the Deck of 1000 Spreads. Here's the detail and intention of the spread.

1. You—How do you best describe yourself as a tarot tool?
2. Pros—How can you best help my tarot practice?
3. Cons—How might you hinder my tarot practice?
4. What You Can't Change—What will remain the same?
5. What You Can Change—What can you change in my tarot practice?
6. Success—What will you help me achieve?
7. Surprise—What will I be surprised to learn about you, deck?
8. What to Know—What's will be the takeaway from my experience with you?

And here is the reading I got from the Osho Zen. As you'll see, it was hard for me to be entirely objective in this reading. But the cards are there...you can reinterpret as you like. :)

1. You—How do you best describe yourself as a tarot tool?

I am the Miser. I save you time. I save you effort. I save you hassle. And I help pinch every bit of meaning out of your readings.

2. Pros—How can you best help my tarot practice?

I bring something fresh and new to your tarot practice. Play with me! Use your imagination! Make magic!

3. Cons—How might you hinder my tarot practice?

When you share me with your clients, I take some of the mystery out of the process. I allow them to peek behind the curtain. What you're doing will no longer be a mystery to them because they will now see that each position has a meaning and what that meaning is. This is both good and bad. Good because I make you more collaborative with your clients. And bad because you're no longer so mysterious and scary to them. :D

4. What You Can't Change—What will remain the same?

Nothing will remain the same. I knock down the wall that has been limiting spreadcrafting for eons. The rules for what you can and can't do have toppled to the ground. Combine spread positions. Create custom spreads on the fly. Divine spreads. Bring context to your Card of the Day. Change whatever you want. You've got the power to break through.

5. What You Can Change—What can you change in my tarot practice?

The biggest thing I can change in your tarot practice is helping you create divined spreads—spreads where you turn all your cards face down and trust that the spread positions you choose will lead you to insights about the matter at hand. I can also help you trust that the spread you use will be one that will answer your querent's question fully. You don't have to "make do" with a spread that's "good enough" from some book you found. You can trust that the Deck of 1000 Spreads will help you create one even better.

6. Success—What will you help me achieve?

I'll help you be less distracted by looking in spread books or trying to remember which position is which. Without those distractions, you'll tune in more to your reading.

7. Surprise—What will I be surprised to learn about you, deck?

With me, you don't have to think so hard when creating spreads. You don't have to remember what each spread position means. I help quiet your mind when it comes to the spread part of a tarot reading so you're better able to receive the messages you're getting.

8. What to Know—What's will be the takeaway from my experience with you?

The takeaway is that the Deck of 1000 Spreads plays nicely with your tarot cards, putting spreads on equal footing as cards in terms of flexibility, customization, randomness and choice. The reading process is now whole, marrying card with position in way anyone can see. It's the total package!
